A calm, clean scalp starts with a steady routine. Flakes and itch are common, and most of the time a few simple changes on wash day make a visible difference.
Why do flakes happen?
Dry flakes are usually small and white and come from a dry scalp. Dandruff flakes are often larger and oilier and come with itching. Product build-up, infrequent washing and weather changes can all make flakes worse.
Your wash-day routine, step by step
- Wet your hair thoroughly with lukewarm – not hot – water.
- Massage the shampoo into the scalp with your fingertips, not your nails. Moonplix Anti Dandruff Shampoo uses salicylic acid to help lift flakes and build-up.
- Wait 2–3 minutes so the shampoo has time to work, then rinse well.
- Condition the lengths only – keep conditioner away from the scalp.
- Dry gently with a soft towel and avoid very hot hair-dryer air on the scalp.
How often to wash
Use an anti dandruff shampoo 2–3 times a week. If you wash daily, alternate with a mild shampoo.
Small habits that help
- Wash pillow covers and combs every week.
- Do not scratch – it irritates the scalp further.
- If you oil, wash it out properly and do not leave oil on for days.
If flaking or itching continues, or your scalp is red and sore, speak to a dermatologist.
